EPQ update-New GAGA FAME & Nicki Pink Friday designs XD

Gosh, the session had creating these two designs were stressful and painful. Not going to lie, I very nearly gave up and walked out. I am so pleased I didn't, I'd been in the library designing for about an hour when nothing I was doing was any good, It was all crap-not even kidding. But somehow just as I was about to leave a miracle occurred and I created this beautiful Nicki Minaj, Pink Friday Inspired Design:

I love this because it's not all gold, it just has this robot-like plates on either cheek, Almost acting as blush! XD I feel that this really represents the bottle well as the bottle kinda looks a little robot like o.O
And the pink accents on the eye and lips (no blush to not distract from the plating design) just ties it in with the hair & lips of the bottle (picture of it below). I am so, so happy with this design I actually kind of want to frame it! :P  I know there isn't very much filled in on the description but that's because there are only a few products needed for actually create this look.

FAME was quite a similar story but now I only had half an hour left. I had the bottle out in front of me and was just staring at it trying to get inspiration, how can you design something from GAGA's already perfect bottle, I mean, I just was not doing justice to it. So I grabbed an eye only template filled page and went crazy just drawing different eye designs over and over and over, I drew 3 pages worth when I finally came up with the idea-I was nearly sweating I was so stressed! D:



FAME Inspired #2



I recited the description Gaga has written on the back of the bottle and remembered "tears of belladonna" I knew there and then that the Gold cap needed to be shown on the lid with the black being leaked out of it, like tears. Black lips are a necessity with this look I feel, and I am now very proud of this design. RELIEF more than anything, came over me when I'd finished :') .

So that was my stressful journey to create these new looks, I think it was worth it. They really rock. Love 'em <3

Haha, wow, now that's done, I think I've got all the designs I need. Now I am going to start piloting them so watch out for those posts in which I'll have pictures of my initial attempts and products etc. :)

Reb'l Fleur Inspired #3



I think this is the Rihanna Look I am actually going to do. This is the one I am most pleased with :D

I feel that the eyes are really representing the bottle well and the lips just add a slightly more wearable feel (lol) that just ties it together. The brows are to be there as a guide so are to be thin but nicely coloured. The Yellow might change from being winged to just covering the whole under eye (under the brow) area but I am not sure yet. The liner scares me a tiny bit, because I am worried when the eyes are open, it may look a little crap.... D: but, again, we'll see when I do some pilots :P

There is to be no blush or contour at the moment as I do not want the skin to be anything but a purely black canvas. For the lips I feel there is no other colour suitable than Hayley Williams' for Mac-Sounds Like Noise matte orange-It's just perfect.

Purr Inspired #2



I really like this one as I feel that the graduation in colour intensity (of the purple/lilac etc) is beautiful and I cannot wait to try this out! I am just trying to find someone who I think has a large enough eye space, I think more Asian eyes would suit this better (as they're not as deep set as others) but we shall see :) Also, the diamantes on the outer corner are very true to the Cats' eyes on the bottle.

I really like the almost gold blonde brows as I think this just warms up the look a bit as the pure silver lips are quite cold and harsh-There's also a fine line between good silver lips and space alien invader, in other words; I need to get the balance right of matte and shimmer.

So that's two more done, I really need to start piloting and trying these looks out as at the moment I currently have no idea what sort of hair I am going to do for any of them/how I am going to photograph them-just portraits? or what? haha, so, maybe I haven't progressed as much as I'd thought :S-have any ideas? Got new Pink Friday and FAME designs coming up, and you can read about the nightmare I had trying to come up with a new fame one....it was quite a stressful 30 mins, lets put it like that.

I like to be creative... :)

Aside from makeup and nails (which, I do sort of blag my way though as I am not very steady handed I will say :P) I do like to make things from time to time, when I have the energy and the actual physical time to do so. I do also like venturing into HobbyCraft occasionally (though now, I always go armed with a pre-found shopping list from the website, as I can get sidetracked VERY easily! And end up spending A LOT of money, as it's quite expensive). Hence, now I always price check over the internet first.

But....there is something almost majestical about venturing in to the big store, that's next door to a Haskin's too so I can wander round there and look at the fishies too :P but most of all, I just love browsing the latest season section where for valentine's there's a tonne of Heart shaped related products and for Christmas there's everything from Pre-made santa cards to sew your own little snowmen kits :3 (how cute!!).

It was Dave's (Studio Couch's Lead Guitarist)'s Birthday on Monday and Dave has a lot of different kinds of sunglasses!! So I wanted to give him some that were completely unique to add to his collection. Hence, I made these:

Dave's "Pick" me up Glasses

I simply bought these Brown Aviatory type things off of Amazon (for a very low price, not gonna lie :P) and Hot Glue Gunned some Guitar Picks onto them :D Now, I am writing this post before he gets them, I am kinda cheating on times here :P, So, I really, really hope he likes them :') I mean, they might've been cheap sunglasses (starts singing the ZZTop song XD) but the added value for the time & effort I put in to creating them in my mind, to actually creating the physical object....surely that's priceless? I mean, there's no other sunglasses like this, made by me, in the world!? So, that's gotta be great, right? haha

Lipstick & Blush Swatches, helping you order your collection :) x

Now, I have a folder with swatches of all my lipsticks, lip glosses, even balm sticks (but not like chap sticks, I mean more like balm stains) and Blushes too. This is purely because, when, like me, you have soooo many!
And, quite a few look the same (packaging) you can order them on your counter as many times as you like but eventually you will struggle! SO! I have swatched everything (though, the blushes weren't that necessary) and have it laminated in a little folder I keep on my vanity, so I can quickly go through and see what I have to suit my eye look that day.

They're literally drawn onto a tissue straight from the bullet and the writing next to them was done in Black kohl eyeliners I hate!! (good use for them, I thought :P) Sorry they're a bit shiny but these were already laminated, so I had to make do with bad lighting and laminated sheets!!

Some favourites are the Hello Kitty lipstick in Blazin' (from Superdrug's collection) and Wet N Wild's Fergie Lipstick in Old School Glamour both are very pigmented but the wet n wild is softer :)

I also really love my Nars gloss (place vendome) and the Ted Baker gloss balm stains I got for xmas :D

Blushes!

All Sleek Blushes

I absolutely adore Sleek blushes, they come in a huge range of shades, finishes, 3 pan palettes and are affordable! My favourites here are Crochet (from the Lace Palette) and P Pie (from the Pumpkin Palette)

Sleek Left & Fashionista Top Right, Dainty Doll Bottom Right

Fashionista is a brand you can buy in Superdrug also, and has very good quality blushes that are definitely worth buying, also you get stylish palettes to put them in too!

End of the Box O' Powders, Tarte Exposed & E.L.F.

Benefit's Box O' Powders

Benefit Box O'Powders are expensive, but are gorgeous. You get a lot of product & the packaging is awesome. Well worth a look at and try. Tarte's Amazonion Clay Blush I do not to say anything about. IT IS INCREDIBLE. E.L.F's blushes are cute, inexpensive and well pigmented :)

Nars Blushes are probably my all time favourite, they're full on sexy have beautiful elegant packaging and the names are very cheeky ;) they're very expensive though, so, I tend to get round this by buying their gift sets which are incredibly good value for money.

Flushed Palette

To the far right is that last of the Nars' swatches with Orgasm, next to that is Kat Von D's blush in Truth which is a nice blush, but it's nothing particularly special, not a necessary purchase. Along from that is the Urban Decay Flushed Palette which is definitely NOT worth the £20 it retails for. But, having said that it is all blush, contour (bronzer) and highlight in a nice neatly packaged kit, so, it's good for travelling. I do think it is too expensive though.

Cream Blush Swatches

Finally, here are all my cream blushes (I may not have that many, but that is because oily skin doesn't particularly react well with the formula).
Starting left, I have a Body Shop one (I know my abbreviation wouldn't of meant anything to anybody else :P).
It is worth noting that the Revlon Photoready Colour Pots are almost exactly the same as mac cremeblend blushes and are a lot cheaper. Well worth the awkward hunt, as boots and superdrug seem to stock random colours and the colours aren't named on the jars, which is annoying (but you can always just write on the plain bottom).

So there we go! Lipstick & Blush Swatches :') Hope this has given you some idea on how you can easily arrange and help yourself find shades etc. It's also worth noting that I keep the lipsticks in the same order that they are in the folder (on my counter).

EPQ Update #2 Designs Galore!

So, I was off ill today (yesterday I couldn't even look at a pc screen so it was nice to be able too today :)) and though, I couldn't work or really do much, I decided to draw my designs for my EPQ idea of the Celebrity Perfume Bottle Inspiration Thing Doo Dah. Yeah!

FAME inspired #1

This is the very first design I came up with, Inspired by the GAGA bottle of FAME. To be perfectly honest, I love everything about FAME. The bottle is gorgeous, the scent is sophisticated (and I like that there are no top, bottom etc etc "notes" everything is equal :)) and the whole thing that it's black!? AMazing XD. So, my design is simple. Strong Black Lips (inspired by the liquid) lined with the same Gold Eyeliner I'll use to create the brows & checkered design on the lids (representing the pretty claw lid). I have (really tried to D:) sketch on some contour just below the cheekbones and very very lightly on the temples sweeping up. Overall, I am very happy with this design, but I do look forward to the next one I make a little more so, hoping it'll have an extra oomph in it :D.

Red Sin Inspired #1

Up next I made this Simple, yet Classic look from Christina Aguilera's Red Sin Bottle. I googled red eyeliner quickly (to make sure it actually looked alright :L) and yes! Red eyeliner, if done strongly and correctly looks great! Though, I am struggling to find drugstore brands that make a good one, I think I'll probably end up with Sleek's Rouge Eau La Liner (which they kindly recommended to me) or if Fashionista has one (they STILL haven't replied to my fb comment) I'll try that too. The addition of a soft neutral-VERY WELL BLENDED- shadow to the crease was just something I threw on at the end, giving it a quite sixties feel.
I then moved onto the lips, now, I really wanted to use actual red lace material on this look somewhere (inspired by Gaga too, I guess :L haha!) and the lips just seemed like the best place for it. Lips are so expressive anyway, why not add some clothing to them too? The Bow Beauty Spot turned out so much better than I thought and the more I see it, the more I like it. I have not added any contour to this and may regret that later, we'll have to see who I can find to wear this one!

Red Sin Inspired #2

I then went straight onto the second design (I am amazed that this bottle is the one I've had the most ideas for!). This one is a lot more simple, with the red lace being wrapped around the eyes (for Ageeeesss I was sat there deciding whether or not it needed eye holes or not :S deciding it did, was a very good decision as the looks are all about the makeup in the end :)). I also had the thought that the lashes should be long & very thin and protrude out of the eye holes very noticeably. The cheeks are to have a VERY well blended SOFT touch of blush to the apples only and lips, blanked out and replaced with a drawn on bow. I am thinking of bring the bow down a bit though-so the knot is in the centre of the lips.

Reb'l Fleur Inspired #1

 After lunch and a quick nap, I awoke to find myself drawn to the Rihanna Bottle-of which I could not remember the name of! but after a quick google ;) I got there. I love the wrapped around black & gold and instantly thought this is how I want it on the face. However, I found it incredibly difficult to copy the gold lines of the bottle, so just went for it. I like my meeting lines of the corners but really don't like the whole look at the same time :(. I think it looks too much like a Zebra :S. I dunno, but, I am not that keen on it. I do like the lashes I drew on it though! I think this is too much copying and not enough inspired. I need to re think this one all together.

Reb'l Fleur Inspired #2

Round 2-Ding Ding Ding! This time, I was determined to be more inspired than copying. But as I drew, I liked the yellow lids, I liked the yellow lips, I really liked the brown brows....But I really didn't like (and am still not keen on) the black linerey parts :(. Without the black I love this-but then its not inspired enough. I dunno, can't seem to get to grips with this bottle...maybe I'll try the nude one? I know its exactly the same just different colours, but that may help me like the designs...? worth a try :).

Pink Friday Inspired #1

After the Riri Fail :( I glimpsed over at my little moodboard and thought oohh yeah, lets do some minajjjing ;)
So, Originally thinking I was going to use Gold all over the face (I might still do so in my next design ;)) I found myself wanting Full On Eyes but nothing else...So, off I went and then came the fabulously sexy falsies-well, how could I let a Nicki Minaj design out without them? and found the perfect pink to pop on the lips and waheyy! But, like the Gaga one, I can't help but think its lacking something :(....I'll find out what, maybe a WIG!? haha! Maybe.... :)

Purr Inspired #1

Last, but, definitely NOT LEAST! Came my Katy Perry's Purr Inspired look. I went all out for this and (lips aside :L) I tried to not get too involved with the outfit she wears on the box XD. By this time I wanted some serious blending and crease colouring and contouring and smudging and lining and just anything and everything to do with making a beautifully creative & intricately stunning eye. I even added some Diamantes, like the classy gal I am ;) The lashes are to be long and seperated, the Brows are to be strong and thin. The cheeks are to be flushed well with a true Barbie Pink shade (of which I haven't decided on yet ;)).


Overall, my favourites are the 2 red sin's and purr :) Hopefully I'll get some new, fresh, more ooomphy designs down in the next few days :).
