Urban Decay Haul, featuring Pulp Fiction & More

So  I did actually scream when MAC announced the Rocky Horror collection but in the meantime the Pulp Fiction Collection from Urban Decay really caught my eye!

Overview of what I picked up
First of all, it is a hugely iconic film and being an avid lover of all things Tarantino, I HAD to buy the palette. PLUS, at just £17.50 it seemed really rude not to! (Almost like me saying "No Thanks UD, I like to pay £36+ for your palettes" ;) so I really could not leave Debenhams without it...).

Swatches of Palette Colours

The first thing I have to say is that this palette is just extremely good value for money.
The shadows are so soft and butterey, blending like a dream! The colour pigmentation is so strong and y'all know I keep on saying Sugarpill need to release a nude palette, because even though we like nude shades, that doesn't mean we don't want any colour payoff!? UD hit the pigment hard which I like. The White, , is slightly shimmery too and that mixes it up a bit. I think if you're still umming and arring, just go buy it!? What's £17.50? A pair of shoes or a jumper from Primark!?
Upon first look I thought that the Black/White duo of Furious & Anger would be similar to my Nars duo eyeshadow in Pandora; take a look at the comparison below...
Furious/Anger, Pandora
I think I prefer Anger as a white and Pandora's black aha!

I then remembered I don't actually own any of their recent lipsticks so decided to have a gander. After just recently purchasing a whole load of new bright lippies from the drugstore I couldn't justify anymore bright pinks...I have too many red as is, but I do love nudes and I need a good replacement for when my Viva Glam Gaga runs out! So this lipstick in Naked2 was a must, I then remembered that I needed a nude lip liner so the Naked2 of that seemed like a great idea too ;D

Lipstick left, Liner right.
The liner is just slightly deeper in colour, completely matte and very smooth. The lipstick is a bit more satin than the liner (still more matte than satin though as a finish in itself) and is so creamy. It just looks beautiful applied to the lips. I find the duo together last a good long while with me drinking from a cup etc. I will definitely be buying more liners!

After this I then had to make it up to over £50 to get Debenhams' special offer of an extra £10 worth of points! (Of course!?) so I ended up purchasing one of the new flushed palettes-I already have the original so Streak looked like the next best one for my colouring.

I was a tad upset when I got home that my palette has been kinda pushed over to the left, however, it is quite sturdy in there (just a few millimetres space to the right) and I have been using it with no problems nonetheless :) I am sure you know it's disappointing when this kinda thing happens though :(... In my swatches it kinda shows the bronzer part as being shimmery, this really does not show shimmery when applied to my skin at least not really noticeably. I use it as a contour over my scarring and it doesn't show them up more so. I love the blush colour, I think it's so gorgeous :') I really love the original but I find this one so much easier to just whack on when in a rush. A* product.

Well Done UD, I am so converted to you over Benefit!? Benefit just kinda cheat me out with their staff, I find UD Staff so much less pushy, anybody else?
Hope you like my overview and I highly recommend you go get the Pulp Fiction Palette! x x x

Birthday LOTD & Beauty Haul!

My Birthday was Monday the 7th of April! Thank you for the messages & cards, I had a lovely relaxed day with some shopping ;) a cute lil' afternoon tea with Ed & his family and went out for Wagamama's in the evening with my family which was so lovely-if you've never been..why not!?
And just to let you know, I am NOT obsessed with the colour pink, despite how it may seem after you see the pictures :P

My Full Face :)

Ma Pink n White EYes

Products used for this look :)
Nyx Jumbo pencil in milk as my base (to really make the white and pink pop), Sugarpill "Tako" for the white shadow, Sugarpill "Dollipop" & Concrete Minerals " " eyeshadows for the pink, LOOK Beauty Mono shadow in "Gilet" as my transitional crease colour to make the look that lil' more wearable ;) .
Tarte "Exposed" Blush (as I didn't want to go with a too sweet look with pink cheeks as well!!) & Nars "Copacabana" multiple for my highlighter. Benefit "Gimme Brow" was ran through my brows and They're Real was gracing my lashes. MAC's Viva Glam "Gaga 1" was on my lips (and I don't think I've ever actually made that colour work quite as well as that, so that went really well!). I was going to wear falsies but I just couldn't bring myself to look THAT fake >.<, especially as Ed's grandparents' were coming :P

My LUSCIOUS Kat Von D Shoes <3

My Full Outfit

My Dress is called "Glamour Guts" by Iron Fist Clothing (hopefully they will start up their UK site again soon!?) and I kinda wish I bought it in a medium instead of large as it's a tad loose and I would've preferred it a bit more hugging ;)

My Shoes are Kat Von D (sorry I have no idea what model) but I actually got them really reduced at a random outlet shop before Christmas!

Anyhoo! Onto the BEAUTY HAUL (which I know is why most of you are here ;))

HAUL!
So, I am sure you can probably guess what everything is but I shall list anyways:
-MAC Colour Correct Compact (Yellow)
-MAC Hoop Lipstick (Matte, from By Request Collection)
-MAC Prep & Prime Radiance Primer (sample)
-MAC Myth Lipstick (Satin, from permanent line)
-Lime Crime Uniliner in Rhyme
-Lime Crime Uniliner in Reason
-Lime Crime Coquette Lipstick
-Lime Crime Styletto Lipstick
-Lime Crime Cosmopop Lipstick
-Duo Dark lash glue (from Cocktail Cosmetics)
-Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette!
-Real Techniques kabuki brush

(L-R) Hoop, Myth, Styletto, Coquette, Cosmopop

I am so in love with the products from Lime Crime I am going to HAVE to try some more! Coquette is such a beautiful colour (I have worn it tonnes already) and I can't wait to wear Styletto somewhere too! I have already tried the silver uniliner (I believe that one is called Reason) and it's staying power is fantastic and it's buildable in pigment too!

And contrary to what I thought, I do actually really like the Naked 3 palette! I find it works nicely for day to day wear-kinda wish it had a couple more lighter/creamier shades though, find I am using my Naked Basics in conjunction with it quite a lot. But nonetheless the shadows are still high quality, butterey and smooth to blend :)

I shall do some more updates on the products as I use them!

As you can see I was well & truly spoilt! I had such a lovely day and I hope you guys enjoyed reading this post! See you in the next one! :) x x x

LOTD-Arabian Nights, smokey bronze look :3

So it seems as though Looks of the Days are all I can push out at the moment! In between training/riding Apollo and all the rest of it it's proving difficult guys! Plus Sky's Internet has left a little something to be desired recently so I do apologise and if anybody who works for Sky is reading this. DO SOMETHING PLEASE!?

Anyhoo, LOTD! Arabian Nightss...
I wore this look to go out with Ed (hadn't planned anything to do, just spur moment type thing) and I really like this look because I just kinda slapped everything on and blended till my arm hurt and I ended up looking quite pretty & Glowing :3

My Full GLOWEEYY Face :3
I look really young here!?

The Eyes.

All Products Used!

So the main product features of this look were Urban Decay Naked Original palette, Bourjois Bronzing Primer, Kat Von D Blush in Truth (I can't wait to get another with the new Sephora shipping-Huge Thanks to MissBudgetBeauty for explaining that to me in her video ;) ) and last product would be a good champageney-gold highlighter like Girl Meets Pearl by Benefit!
This look was super easy, as I said I literally whacked everything on and blended out and was quite happy with the end result :D

I have a couple of posts coming up which are a little different one showing you an overview of my beloved filofax (as I know some of you are interested!) and a Contour & Highlight guide! Which was supposed to be up earlier this month but because of Internet problems, job change and me wanting to make it super easy and simple to follow/understand.... it's taking a tad longer than I thought >.<

I love you all, Thank You so much for keeping my blog alive!! x x x

Valentine's Day Looks Day to Night, Part 2-High End!

So if you didn't see Part 1 you can here: http://tinyurl.com/oth3cg7

And this is Part 2! More Higher End products used here and I kinda didn't pick overly pinkey things for this one either so if you didn't like the pink overload-this might be for you!

My Full Face Day Look!
Bit more smileyy in this post :P
Ma Eyes
As you can see this look is a bit more pin up-esque than the pinkey candy looks from part 1. Similarly from the day look in part 1, I left brows alone for the day look to look more natural :).

Stand Out Products!
The stand out products for this are the Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette (main shadows used are WOS, Naked2 and Faint, lil' bit of Venus on brow bone), Illamasqua Abyss Liquid Liner (my absolute Favourite Black Liquid Eyeliner <3), Benefit Thrrrob blush & Posiepal (Posietint on one end and California Kissin' on the other), Lancome Hypnose Drama mascara (makes for really pwetty curly lashes :3) and Nyx jumbo eye pencil in milk (I know this isn't high end really but it just makes the naked basics shadows pop so well :')).

Night Look, My Whole Face and a cheeky Ed in the background!

My Eyess!
For the eyes I pretty much left them the same all I did was added a black glitter liner over the top (which unfortunately hasn't shown up that well on camera :/) and lashings of They're Real mascara from Benefit on the top & bottom lashes.

Stand Out Products...
So the stand out products here had to be Nars Gaiety blush and Mac's mineralize skinfinish (I used Star Wonder from the heavenly creatures collection but this is just to represent the shimmerey goodness of any mineralize skinfinish ;)). Collection's Glam Crystals (now, I know this isn't high end but I didn't have any high end that could be used easily so I just went with it.) Benefit's Instant Brow Pencil (which really is very instant, you literally brush it through once and you're good to go!) and MAC's Insanely It Cremesheen lipstick which is just a hot raspberry pink colour (and as it's a cremesheen it's moisturising and soft too :3, perfect if you're going in for a smooch :P).

So that was Part 2 my high end day to night looks for Valentine's 2014! Similarly to part 1 all products in the night time look were just popped on top of the products from the day time so you can just come home and whack 'em on and go!

I hope you all have a lovely Valentine's whether it's going out for a super romantic meal, just spending the night in with your other half or even going out and celebrating your single status! Have fun out there!

Much Love and please keep an eye out for my Highlighting & Contour Post to be up soon!

Perfect Palette Tag!

So I've been watching a lot of the Perfect Palette Tag on Youtube and my friend suggested I did it as a post!
So here are the questions and my answers!
1) Best Packaging
This goes to the Urban Decay Glinda Palette, the reason I have chosen this palette is that it is a really thick durable metal case, that protects shadows well (its not heavy though ;)). It has a lovely LARGE mirror inside and space for a pencil PLUS you can change the shadows in and out of the palette. What more could you want? The pretty outside is just a bonus.
Outer Box

2) Best Colour Pay-Off:
So this one kinda took a little thinking and at first I thought Naked 1 Palette...but then I remembered the absoultely stunning looks I used to create with these highly pigmented babies! The Too Faced Shadow Insurance Palette also came with a Shadow Insurance Primer and this and UD Primer Potion is all I ever use. I think Glamazon has to be my all time fave shadow out of this palette <3

Outer Packaging
A little look inside...

All One-Swipe Swatches
3) Most Versatile. This also took a little bit of thinking and my first initial reaction was to go for an 100 colour palette or something huge and then I thought, well my palette I actually get the most looks out of (probably just cos I use it allll the time ;D) is my Kat Von D Poetica palette. This palette is different in that it has a really bright copper orange (Chandler) as well as some really, really pretty neutrals (like Forgiveness & Sandtimer) but then POW! it hits you with a dark glittery Tijuana & Wonderland...AND then has two purples. I mean, just wow. Also worth noting I very nearly said that this has the best packaging but as it feels a little delicate I decided to give it to UD.
Outside of the palette
Just LOOK at those gorgeous colours <3

4) Best for Travel: This HAS to go to the Sleek Palettes. They're so....Sleek! They're really slim and feel very durable plus have a great big mirror and a huge array of shadows (both matte and shimmers) and are really good quality. I took the Snapshots pallete with me to barcelona and used it twice everyday (once for daytime once for nighttime looks :P). Fantastic palettes. They take up no room!

Overview
Look at how SKINNY it is!

5) Biggest regret.
This was really hard as I don't actually "Regret" any palettes I've bought so I decided to make this more of a never touched/waste of money for that reason haha! So I came up with my ELF Custom palette quad thingy...
So the idea is that you buy the compact and then buy the cheap little shadows, blushers whatevers to put in it and I just NEVER use it so although it was under a tenner...still money I could've saved.

Inside View...

6) Best Shade Names, this was easy for me, there was a hands-down winner from the start! Sleek!
I narrowed it to the Candy & Snapshots palette but yeah...I wanted to include the Aqua palette sooo badly too! haha, but with names like Apple Sour, Cream Soda, Liqourice, Blue Fizz, FLUMP! The Candy Palette NEEDS to be mentioned! But wait! The Snapshots Palette has names like...Humming Bird, Tequila Sunrise, Kiwi Flower, Sand Walker and Purple Haze and let me tell you every name is SO apprpriate for the colour it's untrue. This was probably my favourite category :P

Candy Palette on top of and above Snapshots Palette.

7) Least Used. In Fact-Also Never Touched!
The Wet n Wild Blue Had Me At Hello Palette. I love the colours, I think they're gorgeous and I also love how it tells you where to put the colours but I have no idea why I've never touched it!? I guess I just haven't got around to using it, I don't have that many blue clothes or accessories it could go with...maybe I could wear it for the xmas party? I do like the palette a lot, I have another one (can't remember the name off of the top of my head, greens and browns) and I use that ALL the time! haha, oh well!

Over View

8) And finally, Desert Island Palette. The One Palette you'd take with you were you stranded on a desert island and could choose! Naked 2.
Now, the reason I have said Naked 2 is because I kinda do use it as my desert island palette, if I am staying someone over night at short notice (like Ed's or a friend's or whatever) I'll chuck this palette in my overnight bag because I know in the morning I can create a really lovely look or if we're going out smoke up whatever I was wearing during the day already. It matches ANY clothes your wearing, any mood (apart from colour blocking haha ;)) So, it's a great palette to have on a desert island where you're sipping cocktails all day and awaiting for Johnny Depp to come and rescue you ;)

So that was my Perfect Palette Tag! I hope you guys enjoyed my take on the perfect palettes and comment below with yours? :) See you soon! x

16.8.13 LOTD-Swinging Sixties Inspired with Beatles' Tribute Band Night at The Brook

So last night my friends very kindly took me to see The Silver Beatles (one of the very best Beatles' tribute acts in my opinion... ;D) at my favourite music venue in the south! The Brook, Portswood, Southampton. My makeup obviously could've gone two ways, sixties polished or seventies relaxed...I decided to go with polished makeup and relaxed long hair as this meant I could fit in both quite well :)

My Full Face :')

Ma Flick-ey Eyes XD
I popped the eye makeup straight over the top of my day makeup (which just consisted of a very pale shimmerey blue washed over the eyes), for the sixties, my belief is that everything is quite Matte and accurate. So for my eye colours I used the Urban Decay Basics Palette (WOS patted all over lid, faint in crease and foxy on inner corners, virgin as a slight highlight concentrated under the brow arch particularly for a really lifted arch look :)). I then used my Collection black gel liner to make my flicks. Sleek's brow kit in dark (you can see swatches of it here in my massive sleek review: http://tinyurl.com/mbnzxka) using the powder ONLY. I then wiggled some of Benefit's They're Real through my already mascara-ed lashes (Top & Bottom), then a little pinch of MAC's Cremeblend blush in So Sweet So Easy on the apples of my cheeks and finished with A LOT of pressed powder buffed & setting my face. Oooh! and MUA's Lip Boom in Cheeky-Lipstick side ONLY.

Main Products Used!

Have you seen many Tribute bands? I can say I have-I really love visiting the brook and seeing what's on :D You can catch The Silver Beatles on facebook here: https://www.facebook.com/silverbeatles?fref=ts
and on YouTube here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D_nY1x0Ej1o This clip is only very short but I think shows how fun they are :') x x x
